Our methodology

1. Licensing

We verify the operator's licence is current and check which regulator issued it — Kahnawake, Curaçao, or a hybrid Ontario/ROC registration. See our Kahnawake explainer for why that specific licence carries real weight in our scoring.

2. Payout research

We read the withdrawal terms the operator publishes for Interac or e-Transfer and compare them with what independent public reviews report about how long funds take to land. We have not made withdrawals ourselves, so the speeds shown are published or reported figures, not our own timings.

3. Interac & e-Transfer support

We check from published terms and public reviews that Interac or e-Transfer is offered as a deposit and withdrawal method — since it's the payment rail most Quebec players actually use, ahead of cards or e-wallets. 4. French-language support quality

We check whether each operator publishes a French site and French-speaking support, and where sources conflict we score cautiously and say so. We have not chatted with every operator's agents ourselves. This is the single biggest quality gap we see across the operators we've researched.

5. Game-library depth

We look at the operator's published lobby and provider list — slots, live dealer, table games — alongside independent public reviews.

Why Quebec specifically changes the checklist

Most Canada-wide review sites run one generic checklist and slot Quebec in as an afterthought. We don't, because two things are genuinely different here: a meaningful share of the casinos worth covering are licensed by the Commission des jeux de Kahnawake rather than a provincial regulator (see our Kahnawake explainer), and Quebec players overwhelmingly rely on Interac and e-Transfer rather than the PayPal-heavy payment rails common in Ontario-first coverage. A methodology built around Ontario assumptions would score both of those wrong for a Quebec audience, so we check payment support and licensing here with that market specifically in mind rather than copying a template built for a different province.

How often we re-check

We don't score a casino once and move on. Licensing status, payout speed, and support quality are the three factors most likely to drift after launch, so every operator on this site is scheduled for a recheck on a rolling basis — at minimum monthly, sooner if something during routine browsing looks off. Every review on this site currently shows the same "last reviewed" date because that's when our full initial review batch was completed; as individual rechecks happen going forward, each review's date will move independently to reflect that.

Source conditions

We work only from public sources — published terms, licence registers and independent reviews — with no comped balance, no operator cooperation and no advance notice that a review is coming. That's deliberate: we don't want an operator's briefing to shape what we write. Where a figure comes from a single source or sources disagree, the review says so.

What we won't do

Operators have no editorial input into a review or a score. Our affiliate disclosure covers how we're compensated when you sign up through a link on this site. The order of the list is our editorial ranking and does not follow the score alone.
